Mayer Brown Receives Cash Contribution from Landlord

British Land has paid Mayer Brown just short of £18 million to fund the fitting out of new offices at 201 Bishopgate.  The cash contribution appeared in the firms 2007 /2008 final accounts.

The payment was British Lands contribution to a shell and core arrangement which gave Mayer Brown significant incentive to take office space.  As part of the same agreement, Mayer Browns former office in Pilgrim Street is to be taken by British Land.

Mayer Browns moved into their new HQ at the beggining of the year and they have taken nearly a quarter of the building, over 180,000 square feet.  Other businesses operating out of 201 Bishopsgate include Landesbank and Henderson Global Investors.
