House Sales Down Start 2011

A report released by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors this week shows how tough the market is in the UK with the EXCEPTION of London.  Estate agents are now selling on average, only one property a week as the housing market worsens.

Between March and May 2011, the number of homes coming on to the market increased by an average of 5 per estate agent, from 66 to 71.3 but the number that are selling has fallen; the average agent sold only 14.7 properties, the equivalent of just over one per week.

At the peak, the average agent sold 40 per agency, every three months during the boom in 2002.
