New Government Energy Targets for Landlords

The Government has announced that by 2018 it will be illegal to rent out properties with an energy performance certificate rating lower than E.

Within the announcement, the Government has said that whilst the target for 2020 is a 20 per cent reduction, for 2025 it is 50 per cent.

The situation has some senior Institutions looking at the proposals.  The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors said recently that it has concerns over these proposals, and in fact had established a project team to monitor the situation.
