New York Mother Sues Landlord After Rats Attack Daughter

A mother of a two year old New York girl is suiing her landlord after rats attacked her two year old daughter while she was in her cot. 

Ms McKinney had made complaints about rodents in the apartment building following moving in in the summer of 2007.  A rodent exterminator had attempted to plug pipework which may have been used by the rodents but it was simply not enough to stop the rodents from attacking her toddler daughter.

Her daughter woke in the middle of the night, screaming, when rodents started to bite her.  Doctors at the local hospital identified 5 rodent bites. 

The mother filed a lawsuit against Claremont Park LLC who own the building.
