Nationwide Figures Show Growth of 4.7%
The Nationwide has released figures that showed house prices rose by 0.2% in July 2011, bringing house prices are now up 4.7 per cent since the start of the year. Unfortunately, the Building Society has reported that transactions have dropped to the lowest amount in 2 years.
Chief Economist for Nationwide, Robert Gardner said market activity remained at a very low level. 204,000 transactions were recorded in the three months to June. This is incredibly low for what should be one of the busiest times of the year.
