Informed Landlords Glossary: Consumer Protection Act:

Everyday actions can cause us to agree by contract to do something such as when we take out a buy to let mortgage or organise landlords insurance. It came to the fore that as consumers some were being confused by the agreements put in place and that consumers were not being well looked after. The Consumer Protection Act is here to safeguard our rights.

The Act makes sure that if you feel the company’s policies are unfair, not legal and not above board, you have a right to challenge. If you feel you are not being well served, obtain legal advice.
